A brief review of the book, and a look at the Radioactive Boy Scout himself.
The Radioactive Boy Scout, whose real name is David Hahn, built a fast breeder reactor in his backyard shed from readily obtainable materials. According to the book, he became scared when the reactor began to become more and more radioactive. For example, he used an old geiger counter (presumably a CD V-700) and got readings well above background, five houses away from his home. His home-built reactor was working TOO well. The authorities got involved...
Very engrossing book. Well written, and an easy read.
